At 56 I find myself increasingly focused on my family and how to best fund our retirement.  I’ve made a list below on what scares me (basically what I want to stay away from) and what I need to ensure I can make the most of my retirement.

What Scares Me:

  • Watching my retirement savings and superannuation decline as I spend.

  • My decision-making being influenced by seeing these savings decline (e.g., should I go on that holiday or eat out as often etc).

  • Stressing about the stock market and feeling compelled to check my investments daily.

  • Being put in a position where I may have to sell my family home to afford aged care, potentially having nothing left to leave my family.

I found commercial property aligns perfectly with what I need and what I want.  Most people don’t even consider commercial property, it’s not on their radar or they think it’s only for the rich, being too expensive or too risky.
